Waiting on payment for a study?
StudySnag doesn’t pay participants — the research provider running the study does, directly. If a payment is late, they’re the ones to chase. Here’s how.
Getting paid for a study
StudySnag never handles your payment. We list studies and help you find ones you might qualify for. Everything after you register — screening, scheduling, and paying you — is handled by the research provider running that study. They pay you directly, by their own method and on their own timeline.
Most providers pay within two to six weeks of completion. The expected timeline and method are usually in the study details or the confirmation email you received when you registered.
If a payment is overdue, contact the provider first, quoting the study name and the date you took part. If you can’t reach them, or you think a listing is fraudulent, email us — we’ll look into it and pull the listing if something is wrong. See how to spot a paid study scam if anything felt off.
Signing in
There are no passwords. Enter your email on the login page and we’ll send a short sign-in code that’s valid for a few minutes.
If the code doesn’t arrive, check your spam folder first, then confirm you’re using the same address you signed up with — a different address creates a different account. Still stuck? Email us and we’ll sort it out manually.
Subscription & billing
A membership is $7 per month, billed immediately with no trial, or $30 per year, which includes a 3-day free trial. Both renew automatically until you cancel.
To cancel, sign in, open Billing, and choose Manage subscription. That opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can cancel, switch plans, or update your card. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you’ve already paid for — you keep full access until then.
Payments are processed by Stripe, so we never see or store your card details. If you were charged unexpectedly or something looks wrong on your statement, email us with the date and amount and we’ll investigate.
Studies & eligibility
Recruiters screen for specific demographics, habits, health conditions, or professions, and most studies accept only a small share of applicants. Not qualifying is normal, and it’s decided entirely by the provider — we have no influence over screening.
Keeping your profile accurate and complete improves what gets surfaced to you. New studies are added continuously, and the ones worth the most tend to fill fastest, so applying early matters more than applying to everything.

Safety & scams
A legitimate study never asks you to pay a fee, buy a starter kit, or send money back. Money only moves one way: from the provider to you. Nobody legitimate needs your bank login or a payment up front.
We vet the sources we aggregate from, but studies are run by third parties and listings change constantly. If something seems wrong, tell us and we’ll investigate. Our full guide on spotting paid study scams covers the patterns worth knowing.
